MarJoLi's "Grey Wave" is part of the artist's 'Fukishima' series. From what at first glance appears to be an abstract composition of lines and colours emerges hints at the subject matter: blue waving lines become a churning ocean separated by a pale beach from a land lush with florals – among them the artist's stylized version of the hazard symbol for ionizing radiation. MarJoLi has used the red circle in other pieces to symbolize the location of the nuclear plant.
