An oval plate with an orange rim depicts a matador evading a bull. Behind the pair is a picador, a bullfighter on horseback.

The print is originally from a Limited Edition Art Folio "Céramiques De Picasso" published by Albert Skira in Switzerland, circa 1950. Made with 18 color reproductions at Roto-Sadag Printing, Geneva. Destriputed in the 1950s by Galerie D´Art Latin, Karlavägen 58, Stockholm, Sweden. These designs were made for Vallauris ceramics, France by Pablo Picasso. Between 1947 and 1971, Picasso designed 633 different editions of ceramic works in collaboration with Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, France. Working in the Madoura studio alongside their team, he developed each surface design to complement the varied ceramic forms.
