    Christian Bergeron (1945-)

    Biography from Gallery 421 https://gallery421.ca/artist-biography.php?artistId=354681&artist=Christian+Bergeron&type=:

"Born in Clermont Quebec, his career spans over 50 years. As a young self-taught artist, earlier in his career, Bergeron met one of the great master painters of Quebec, Francesco Iacurto, for whom he was both model and eager student. From the benefit of Iacurto’s teaching as a colorist, Christian developed and perfected a modern prismatic style of his own.

Christian Bergeron’s style gives the viewer the illusion of a scene perceived through a prism, which is a colorful, even kaleidoscopic effect. Here, we truly understand the artists freedom. Bergeron’s paintings reflect a contemporary new way of representing landscape art in Quebec and in Canada.

Known for mastery of the spatula, his only tool, and for his vibrant color, light and contrast, Christian’s work encompasses traditional scenes, seascapes, figuration, and even abstract works.

As well as exhibiting in galleries across Canada, in Europe and in the United States, Bergeron is a member of the Copley Society of Art in Boston Massachusetts."
