In 1986, Putov was invited to Paris to exhibit at the International Center for Contemporary Art, and chose to move to France permanently. He joined the artist collective Art-Cloche (short for "clochard", or homeless person), a group who squatted in various Parisian urban spaces and collected material from the streets and dumps for their work. A pronounced deviation from his usual style, this mixed media piece shows his approach and experimentation with the aesthetic.
